I have too many favorite poems to mention.
If I had a favorite, it would come from Lorca though.
He's the greatest poet I've ever read.

He's also the greatest playwright I've read.

There are 2 or 3 short poems by him I like as much as this one.

"Little Viennese Waltz" and "Night". . . .

Leonard Cohen named his daughter "Lorca"

and put "Viennese Waltz” to music.

But I'll just post one poem and a pic.

The Little Mute Boy

by Federico Garcia Lorca

The little boy was looking for his voice.
(The King of the crickets had it.)
In a drop of water
the little boy was looking for his voice.

I do not want it for speaking with;
I will make a ring of it
so that he may wear my silence
on his little finger.

In a drop of water
the little boy was looking for his voice.
(The captive voice, far away.
Put on a cricket' clothes.)
